Looking Back, Moving Forward - The Journey of the Stolen Generation of Victoria

The plight of the people of the Stolen Generations has continued for over one hundred years. From the ages of two days to the teenage years, multitudes of Koorie children, South Eastern Indigenous Australians, were separated from their families by State authorities, churches and individuals in an atmosphere of cultural misunderstanding, fear and greed.

Through historic images, letters, articles, artworks and recorded oral histories from members of the Stolen Generations, Looking Back, Moving Forward illumninates their journeys in all their varied time lines and levels of tragedy and happiness.
